It’s a pseudo-reference sheet post again, this time featuring Hallow, who’s one of my oldest OCs. The oldest of these is from 2006 if I’m not mistaken.
These two tiny ones are from earlier this year, one a melon doodle based on a Flight Rising guardian dragon (hence the different horns/fins/beard stuff).
The other a quickly doodled chibi because cute is so much easier to draw than fierce.
He’s a pseudo-shapeshifter, in that he can sort of morph his limbs in and out existence and modify his general body composition somewhat.
To put that more simply, it is as dumb as “I like to draw him as different kinds of dragons (like serpentine ones or wyverns or woah a lung) sometimes and the limited-shapeshifter idea seemed cool at the time.” I was 17 when that idea became a thing. It’s not a bad enough idea that I’ve bothered changing it, but I’m sort of iffy with shapeshifters in general.
The upside to that is that stuff like getting the number of fingers in his wings wrong or forgetting to draw his ears is less of a “oh god I failed” and more of a “guess he felt like looking like this today” thing.
I feel like I should write something about his personality, but this is already running kind of long, so I’ll just leave that he’s confident, arrogant (but not super loud about it, just trust him to look at you with a look that says he knows he’s better), physically strong, kind of phobic at squirrels (it’s a long story), enjoys the company of other creatures/people as long as they don’t seem to question that he’s excellent annnd I usually headcanon stuff at a time in his lifespan where he’s definitely a grown-up but hasn’t really acquired any wisdom yet. It ticks in eventually.
